not in the polar plunge club yet

More pictures of Kitten baby during today's foray to our poolhouse. This time the pictures are for showing off the sweater rather than the baby, although I do love that crying baby face.

My Jasper Diamond Hoodie by Kristen Rengren
Okay. That's too many pictures of Kitten baby in his sweater. Really, I have no self control.

I used 2.5 fewer balls of yarn than I'd purchased, so now I can knit a little vest or socks and a hat for one of the boys. Kidoodle is asking for some animal socks, and this yarn might make a darling lion pair. (Anyone have a darling lion sock pattern handy? *wink*) I think he most wants red dragon socks, though. Can do!

I'm not quite ready to begin a new knitting project. I'm working on Kidoodle's Tomten jacket--the jacket that last year grew from a small 2T into a gigantic 5T beast--as quickly as I can. Happily Kidoodle has grown fast and tall. And so it goes that I've rescued his Tometen from my knitting basket for good, even though I had to guess at what size knitting needles I'd been using, and even though I guessed wrong the first time and had to rip out five inches. (I'm using big US 10s now, not the US 9s I'd supposed I'd been using. Big needles. Big yarn. No wonder the jacket turned out to drown Kidoodle last year!)

This afternoon I packed up this Tomten and all the boys for some sunshine-y play. I got a knit a row or two. Kidoodle and Skedaddle pulled boats along the cold pool waters. They even had fun, once Kidoodle got his tantrum out of the way. Seems someone has parents who don't let him swim when it's 35 degrees outside. Meanies.

It turned out even cuter than I thought. The hood especially! I kind of want a me sized version.

Lol, now why won't you let the kid swim?

I love the sweaters, especially Kitten's. That pattern is lovely! I need to tackle another sweater soon. At least when it's for the kids, it's a little easier to finish (and less expensive).
